Accessing Computers

There are two main areas where you can access computers in the Study Centre:

IT Suite

Where?

Ground floor of the Study Centre, Brahan Building.

Opening hours

9am – 4.30pm during term-time.

How do I book?

In advance at the IT suite, or phone 01738 877230.

Facilities

This area has 50 PCs and a printer. There is also an email 'touch-down zone' just outside the IT Suite, for those who just want to check their email.

Library

Where?

First floor of the Study Centre, Brahan Building.

Opening hours

Monday to Thursday 9am - 9pm

Friday 9am - 4.45pm (term-time)

We are also open Monday to Friday 9am - 4.45pm during College holidays.

How do I book?

In advance at the IT Suite, or at the library issue desk.

Facilities

Here you can access one of multimedia PCs or borrow one of our wireless laptops. These connect to the network in the same way as our desktop machines, but the wireless technology means you can work flexibly within the top two floors of the Study Centre.

A printer is also available for your use. A Brite computer is available, for students with additional support requirements. A range of auxiliary aids can also be borrowed - just ask at the library desk.

Getting help

All students should receive an IT induction at the start of the college year, but if you have not received any information about this, or if you missed your session, please contact your Student Adviser as you will not be able to access a PC without having completed a session. Quick Guides are also available to help you get started. Just ask at the Library Desk for information.

Acceptable Use
