College Library: the Learning Resource Centre

Perth College Learning Resource Centre

The College library or Learning Resources Centre (LRC) is situated on the first floor of the Study Centre in the Brahan Building on our Crieff Road campus.

It provides access to study facilities, equipment, library and learning resources to assist you in your studies at Perth College.

As you progress through your course, you will have assignments to complete and exams to sit. The LRC facilities and services can help you to prepare for these and achieve better results. Excellent IT facilities are available for students.

The LRC is open from 8.45am-9pm (Monday to Thursday) and 8.45am-4.45pm (Friday) during term-time; 9am-4.45pm (Monday to Friday) during holidays.

Here you can access one of our six desk top or 12 laptops for use anywhere within the library.

A second computing facility can be found on the ground floor of the study centre. This area is open from 8.45am-4.30pm Monday to Friday during term-time. Here you can book one of 50 PCs or use one of our group-work areas. All PCs and laptops have the standard Microsoft Office suite of software, Adobe, email and internet access.

Disabled access PCs are available in all drop-in computing areas. These are situated on height adjustable desks and have 15 inch flat screen monitors. A range of keyboards, pointing devices and other auxiliary aids are available for loan from the LRC desk.

All equipment should be booked in advance at the ICT Suite Reception (on the ground floor) or at the LRC desk (on the first floor). Before using Perth College equipment you must complete an IT induction, organised by your Student Adviser.

Please remember that you must follow the College's Acceptable Use Policy when using computers and that student activity is supervised using CCTV and monitoring software.

Relax and enjoy a freshly brewed Costa coffee in the Learning Café situated on the first floor of the learning resource centre.
