Perth College's Clive Lamb |
A Perth College UHI chef lecturer has been awarded the honour of cooking for TV Celebrity chef and ‘King of the Jungle’ Gino D’Acampo when he guests at Perthshire On A Plate on Saturday 3 July at Perth Concert Hall.
Clive Lamb, Perth College UHI lecturer explained: “I’m delighted to show off my skills before one of the country’s most popular celebrity chefs. Hopefully he will enjoy the meal I’m preparing for him; I certainly don’t intend to replicate the rat risotto he cooked when he was in the jungle!
“Instead, I’m going to use the best of Perthshire ingredients to showcase our local larder. I’m sure he will be suitably impressed.
“As I’m also cooking for a group of ladies who will have the pleasure of dining with Gino, I think they will appreciate something summery, fresh and tasty.”
Event organiser Vicki Unite added: “I’m delighted the culinary expertise from within Perth College UHI will be showcased at Perthshire On A Plate. The College produces some outstanding and creative chefs and they’re very much a part of the area’s rich skills base in this field so it’s great that Clive has a platform at this event.”
As part of Perth’s 800th anniversary celebrations, the Perthshire On A Plate event featuring local talent, exhibitors, traders and experts will be run over two days, Friday 2 and Saturday 3 July and entry is free. Gino will guest throughout the Saturday with demonstrations (£10) and book signings in his first visit to the Fair City.
