Students and Care home staff with the mural

Perth College UHI art students have played their part in brightening up the grounds at the North Inch Balhousie Care home with the delivery of a large mural.

The giant eight foot square mural painted on MDF using acrylic paint depicts a garden scene and has been placed in the Care home’s courtyard garden.

Annie Turner, lecturer said:” The students found painting the mural was a rewarding experience and it gave them the valuable opportunity to work on a live project.”

Diane Halley, Balhousie North Inch Care Home Manager, said: “The project began from collaboration between the College and Balhousie North Inch because we felt the community involvement would be of benefit to the redevelopment of our garden area.

“The mural has now been mounted and everyone at the home is delighted with the hard work the students have put in to create such a wonderful piece for staff, residents and any visitors we receive.

“We would all like to thank Perth College UHI and the students for this tremendous gift.”
