Flying school takes off |
A specialist aviation industry training centre has announced their return to the pilot training market as the new Airline Transport Pilot Licence provider in the North.
The venture, which represents a major commitment by Air Service Training Ltd (AST), a wholly owned subsidiary of Perth College UHI, is set to enhance the global reputation of training already offered in Aircraft Engineering from their facilities at Perth Airport, Scotland.
The Profession Aviation Training in the Highlands (PATH) programme is aimed at students who wish to train to be professional pilots.
Chris Joslin, AST Operations Director and flight school Head of Training said: “PATH is a comprehensive pilot training programme which offers students the opportunity to join AST, a world-class air training organisation which is long established, having just celebrated our 75th anniversary last year and continues the company tradition of meeting the training needs of the air transport industry.
“Currently AST’s customers rank amongst the major airlines, maintenance organisation and military formations across the globe. Our aim is that PATH will enable us to expand these relationships as well as work with individuals who are looking to embark upon a career in civil aviation.”
