NewBiz'10

Perth College UHI and Perth and Kinross Social Economy Partnership hosted Newbiz 10, Scotland’s Conference for Private and Social Enterprise.

Aimed at budding entrepreneurs from the private and social enterprise sectors, this free event took place on Tuesday 16 February 2010 at the Dewars Centre in Perth.

The welcome and conference opening address was by John Swinney MSP, and the keynote speaker was Michelle Mone OBE, Creator of Ultimo Lingerie and founder and co-owner of MJM International.

Visitors heard from successful business people about their experiences, workshops on marketing, web, e-commerce, business toolbox and social enterprise led by industry experts. There were also stands offering help on developing your idea or existing business.

Over 200 delegates and stand holders attended,  and the event‘s success was reflected by  the comments received:

“.... I want to thank everyone involved in putting together an extremely useful and interesting day - I'm sure it involved a lot of hard work, but it was well worth it!” Julie Marsh, HealthWisePerth

“I certainly had an enjoyable and inspiring day at the conference. Thank you all very much for your hard work and making it such a success.”
Mary McPherson, The Relaxation Company

"Thank you so much for a wonderful and inspirational day at the New Biz '10 Conference. I have already been putting some of what I learned into use.
I have some great new ideas and now I believe I can get them up and running!”
Heather Borderie, The Food Library, Glendoick Garden Centre
