About this course
This new course has all the essential elements required to work in the music industry, in management and marketing. In addition to the academic approach, you will gain valuable experience by working and establishing a Perth College UHI record label, scouting for new talent (A&R), developing artists and promoting gigs, festivals and other musical events. You will also help to organise and manage music festivals.

You study
You’ll have the opportunity to study every aspect of the industry, including: marketing for the music industry; record company infrastructure; artist management and development; event promotion and music video and graphics.
Getting started
You will be invited for an interview and must have a Higher or have completed an NQ that includes communication, numeracy and IT skills.

Careers and Training
With a background in music business you can pursue a variety of careers, including event promotion, artist development and management, music law and publishing. This industry is especially conducive to enterprising individuals who may consider starting their own business. You could also further your study by going on to degree courses at Westminster University (London), Strathclyde University and Paisley University.
