With a passion for construction, Daniel Salazar was a qualified civil engineer in his native homeland of the Philippines. When looking for a similar position in the UK, he found he needed to retrain to meet British standards, enrolling onto HNC Construction.
“Because of the current economic climate, I think now is a good time to train because when the current economic climate picks up those with qualifications will have an advantage.
I love studying, it makes you think and feel younger and at Perth College UHI, I have found the lecturers to be very friendly and helpful, in fact I would give them 5 stars!
I also think Perth is a fantastic place, you can just drive a few miles and you’re out in the countryside.
I’ve decided to progress onto a Civil Engineering degree at the University of Abertay Dundee and then I’ll be job hunting as having kids and a wife brings responsibilities!”
